Where the money comes from changes how a publication operates. Ours is disclosed in full here.

Current funding sources

Replace this section with your actual funding sources before launch. Examples might include: founder self-funded for the first six months; small reader donations; grants from named foundations.

What we will not accept

• Funding from political campaigns or candidate committees.
• Funding from party committees, PACs, super PACs, or 501(c)(4)s aligned with a particular candidate or party.
• Anonymous donations above $100. If we cannot disclose where money came from, we cannot accept it.

Anti-corruption practices

• No editor with a financial stake in any covered figure or campaign reviews fact-checks involving that figure or campaign.
• No paid placements, ever. No fact-check on this site has ever been requested or paid for by anyone other than the editorial team.
• If a funder attempts to influence editorial decisions, we report it on this page and refund their funding.
